Happy Women's Day!

International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

Women in Switzerland gained the right to vote in federal elections after a referendum in February 1971. The first federal vote in which women were able to participate was the 31 October 1971 election of the Federal Assembly. In 1991 following a decision by the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland, Appenzell Innerrhoden became the last Swiss canton to grant women the vote on local issue.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of women’s right to vote in Switzerland. So on this international women’s days we would like to take a closer look at gender parity in Switzerland.

And in order to oppose common stereotypes of female data being represented by pink and male by blue, we opted for a different color scheme.

because we just love data. and the association of a teenage mutant ninja turtle, commonly known as Donatello.

And once again, in German.
