Quality Check

Email lets us communicate — or miscommunicate — at the speed of light. That’s why proofreading email is so important. Grammatical errors, bad links, and missing attachments signal a lack of professionalism, and a confusing sentence can send the wrong message altogether. What can you do to ensure that your emails send the "right" message? Well, we compiled a small list:

  • know your usual mistakes
  • check subjects and headlines
  • verify names and pronouns
  • read out loud
  • check links and attachments
  • verify facts and dates
  • simplify, if possible

If you are not sure whether or not your grammar or spelling is up to code - we suggest using a tool. Grammarly for example is a cloud-based typing assistant that reviews spelling, grammar, punctuation, clarity, engagement, and delivery mistakes. It uses machine learning to identify and search for an appropriate replacement for the error it locates. Simple as that.

In our everyday communication a small typo might not matter, but we feel that good communication and well-written mails should be common courtesy. So check your mails pre-sending!
